Critical Friend
My Critical Friend service is designed to provide confidential support, reflective challenge, and experienced insights to you.
A Critical Friend is a sounding board, a safe space to test thinking, and an independent perspective on matters relating to your work. These could include for example: ethical practice, wellbeing, strategy, challenging relationships. I can also support you in communicating ethical values and driving engagement with your speaking up programme.
The relationship is one of support and personal guidance, offering experienced opinions, enhancing your own decision-making capacity and professional resilience. Think of it as an intersection between a consultant, coach and mentor.
Ethics
I am a Chartered PR Professional. This requires me to maintain the highest standards of professional endeavour, integrity, confidentiality, financial propriety and personal conduct.
I abide by the CIPR Code of Conduct, which has at its heart four Principles of Good Practice: Integrity, Competence, Transparency and Confidentiality.
Confidentiality
Everything you share with me will be treated as confidential. I will not take notes except for my own reflections, and any notes I do take will be destroyed after our relationship ends.
However there may be circumstances when I am legally or ethically obliged to break confidentiality, for example where I consider your welfare of the welfare of others to be seriously at risk.
